What I Ate Wednesday #8
Happy Wednesday! Below are my top 5 food related appeasements of the week (in no particular order). I’m naturally drawn to top anything lists so what better way to showcase the eats! Really, it’s a public service. Who wants to see the so-so stuff? Ain’t nobody got time fo dat.
The best green grub, aside from the avocado, is the salad. Salad is awesome. I don’t care what anyone says. You literally just throw random stuff in bowl, add some nutrient dense greens, & lightly toss it in a dressing. Done. Pretty much anything goes as far as salad is concerned. Rabbit food, schmabbit food.
Baby kale, chard, red cabbage, mango pico de gallo, avocado, sauteed zucchini, pearl mozzarella & “veggie” rotini. Green goddess dressing on the side. We honestly didn’t even use the dressing.
Cobb salad from Canyon Café. No bacon, dressing on side. Not a piece of iceberg lettuce in sight. Thus, I deem it a worthy salad.
Vegan enchilada dip (minus the greek yogurt on top), served straight from the skillet it was cooked in. We piggishly dunked our tortilla chips into this for dinner one night (& the next day). It was fabulous. Recipe to come next week.
If you thought the first salad was random, hold on to your butts (lame Jurassic Park reference). Central market sprouted grain bread (way better than Ezekiel’s frozen bricks they call bread), tomato sauce, mozzarella slices, tomato slices, baby spinach, onion, capers, & pico topped with Trader Joe’s balsamic glaze. Toasted.
Last but not least, traditional homemade Irish Coffees. Delicious, festive, & fun to make. No Bailey’s Irish Cream in these bad boys. They were so special in fact, I’m devoting a whole post to them tomorrow.
